Spa Services

I'm so excited to be learning new manicure and pedicure spa services. The products are soothing, refreshing and exciting. We have a Citrus and Almond product for the nails and an Earth and Marine product for the feet.

Both products sooth dry skin and refresh tired hands and feet.

I'm so excited that I'll be taking a few classes to become a master educator in the near future. That will require me doing gels but hey, since it's the in thing, why not?

Shop Talk


Chrystal's Nails is wishing everyone a lovely morning. Speaking of love, in this edition of Shop Talk we had a client who shared her wonderful New Year's Eve story but she may be stopping her party before it starts.

She came in for a french and exuded post holiday cheer. She went on about her date and the smile on her face let me know he may be someone very special. But here's the thing, they played a little phone tag and he/she haven't kept in touch.

She is apprehensive about calling him, but this is 2010. I thought if you want it, go get it.

It's hard to find another person who puts an unconditional smile on your face. I suggested she give careful thought and considering calling. After all it's February and we're all in need of a little extra heart smarts.

My love quote for Ms. Apprehensive, "Love is hard as is but when you feel it, embrace the mystery."

Shop Talk

A client called Chrystal's Nails and needed a service and a chat. No problem. The client came and received superb service and a listening ear but she wanted more, advice.

She presented the scenario and then asked me to "help" her make a decision. I was clear on what she wanted to do but it was so personal, I hesitated. She needed to decide the plight of her life on her own.

Scenario: Client is married with a child. Ten years later she realizes her child does not belong to her husband. Client had child while she was married. Client wants to come clean and clear her conscience.

I told client to pray and ask God for help. I also told her to seek counseling. She wasn't satisfied with my answers but I advised her to get professional help.

At the end of the day, I couldn't take responsibility for her actions.

Winter Nails


Dry cuticles, don't be discouraged and embarrassed with snags and bleeding cuticles. Make sure you oil your cuticles twice a day. Also frequent manicures by a licensed manicurist will help maintain soft and smooth nails and healthy cuticles.
During this recession ask your manicurist for ways to save on services by frequent manicure clubs, referrals and reward programs. She/he may even create one just for you. As an example, I like to offer my clients a frequent manicure card. Each time you visit, your card is punched and after nine punches your manicure is free.
